  • The Philco Tropic model 39-2770 series had two models, an upright table model 39-2770T and a console 39-2770XX. Both use a chassis similar to Philco model 39-770, but with a long wave band replacing one of the three short wave bands of the 39-770.

    Band coverage is 140-390 kHz (LW), 540-1720 kHz (BC), 5.7-11.5 MHz (SW1), and 11.5-22 MHz (SW2).

    Philco "Tropic" radios were export models intended for harsh environments.
