  • Philco model 53-706 is an AC operated two band AM superheterodyne receiver with electric clock.

Note that the Philco 53-702, 53-706, and 53-707 all use the same chassis but in very different cases.

The 53-702 is a horizontal plastic case (horizontal chassis) with the clock on the left, the speaker in the middle, and the tuner on the right.

The 53-706 is a vertical wood case (vertical chassis) with a lamp and shade on top, the clock at the top (directly below the lamp), the speaker in the middle, and the tuner at the bottom.

The 53-707 is a vertical wood case (vertical chassis) (no lamp) with the clock at the top, the speaker in the middle, and the tuner at the bottom. There is also a door with grill cloth that covers the tuner and speaker.
