- Notes
-
A large "Pocket Portable" which is AM only. With 8 silicon transistors, the perfornance should be good but the sensitivity is limited by the short (90 mm) ferrite rod antenna. Unlike earlier portable radios there is no provision for either external aerial or earth. Volume of output is limited by the ues of 3 "C" cells given a maximum operating voltage of only 4.5 volts. The speaker is drven directly from the pair of output transistors and has an impedance of 8 Ohms. The speaker is also rated at 0.6 Watts.
There is one unmarked diode.
The circuit board is obviously designed to serve in a number of models as there are drilled holes to allow a number of extra components to be installed, particularly around the RF and IF stages.
The dimensions do not include the handle and the weight is without batteries.
