  • This two transistor portable radio kit features a large 6.25 inch ferrite core antenna coil and a 4 inch speaker. The kit gave many youngsters their first experience with the newly available transistors. Transistors were the miracle devices of the 1950s.

    This set is similar to Philmore TR-22A and the Philmore TR-201.

    The two transistors are labeled Philmore PH3 and PH2. The PH2 may be replace by GT81, 2N138, 2N109, or 2N44. The PH3 may be replaced by 2N136, 2N112, CK760, or GT761.
