  • A crystal receiver In a black rexine covered wooden box with a hinged lid for use with headphones. Inside the lid are instructions for use.

    The manufacturer of this receiver was Plessey, and was built for Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co. Ltd. in 1925. A stock of this model, originally the Marconi Crystal Junior RB2, were marketed by Marconi Wireless Telegraph Co. Ltd. but the original Marconiphone logos were replaced by red "Crystal Receiver" decals.

    The receiver has two crystals, one in galena and the other in carborundum, mountable (one at a time) on a special support. On the panel there is a housing for the polarization stack of the carborundum crystal, the admissible band is from 300 to 3000 metres with removable tuning coils wired on hard rubber blocks. The example pictured is equipped with a coil covering 300 to 450 meters, a "Spade Tuning" tuning system.

    Il ricevitore è dotato di due cristalli,uno a galena e l'altro di carborundum ; montabili (uno alla volta) nell' apposito supporto,sul pannello è presente l'alloggiamento della la pila di polarizzazione del cristallo di carborundum,la banda ricevibile è da 300 a 3000 mt. tramite bobine di sintonia estraibili cablate su blocchi di ebanite,questo esemplare è equipaggiato con una bobina che copre da 300 a 450 mt., sistema di sintonia a "Spade Tuning".

    La ditta costruttrice di questo ricevitore era la Plessey,che costruiva per il gruppo Marconi /Marconiphon,nel 1925,uno stock di questi modelli, ( in origine Marconi Crystal Junior RB2) furono  commercializzati dalla ditta MWT&Co,e il logo Marconiphone originale fu sostituito da una decalcomania rossa con la dicitura "Crystal Receiver".
