  • The PYE SS140 is an AM-only CB radio.

    • Frequency Range: 26.420 MHz to 26.600 MHz (New Zealand CB allocation, pre-1977).​
    • Number of Channels: 12.​
    • Modulation: AM (Amplitude Modulation) only.​
    • Single Side Band (SSB): Not supported.​

    Typical Use: Mobile and base CB communication; popular in New Zealand through the 1970s and 1980s.​

    Produced by PYE primarily in Waihi, NZ, and also at the Glen Innes factory in Auckland.​

    Notable for good long-distance AM performance within its intended NZ allocation.
