The PYE SS140 is an AM-only CB radio.
- Frequency Range: 26.420 MHz to 26.600 MHz (New Zealand CB allocation, pre-1977).
- Number of Channels: 12.
- Modulation: AM (Amplitude Modulation) only.
- Single Side Band (SSB): Not supported.
Typical Use: Mobile and base CB communication; popular in New Zealand through the 1970s and 1980s.
Produced by PYE primarily in Waihi, NZ, and also at the Glen Innes factory in Auckland.
Notable for good long-distance AM performance within its intended NZ allocation.
