  • Military Antenna matching unit Clansman VRC-321
Frequency range 1.5 to 29.99 MHz

This is part of the HF radio station UK/VRC-321 comprising transmitter/receiver RT-321, Preselector/Bandpass Filter SURF-25W and this tuner. It matches dipoles, rod antennas of 3 or 4 metres, and end fed wires although the wires need to be slightly shorter than 1/4 wave or 3/4 wave (slightly inductive load). Power rating is 25W for constant power modes (RTTY) or 45W CW and SSB. It can be used with any HF transceiver at these power levels but the reverse power meter is only useful with the RT-321 (the SWR bridge is in the radio and the DC current for the meter is fed via the coax).
