    Model 12-1875 was in Radio Shack catalogs from 1984 thru 1991.  Model 12-1875A does not appear listed in the catalogs.  Power source is from two spring loaded contacts that touch the 8 track player's automatic track switching contacts.  Eight track tapes cartridges were designed with a short metal foil that activated the track-change sensor.
