Model 12-1979 is an automotive Cassette Player shown in Radio Shack catalogs from 1986-1988.  There is one found actual model that indicates that this is a model 12-1802.  Model 12-1802 is an automotive Stereo 8 Player that appeared in Radio Shack Catalogs from 1976-1980.  There also are actual pictures of this model that indicate 12-1802 as a Stereo 8 Player.  Radio Shack typically did not recycle model numbers and it is theorized that the label on the found model Cassette Player is incorrect.
