The RCA models TR-1 and TR-1A are mechanically and electronically the same except in the volume control connections. In the model TR-1 the volume control is used for the recording level only. In the TR-1A the volume control is used during both recording and playback operation.
The models TR-1 and TR-1A are also known as the model 6-HFT-1 model.
