  • Notes
  • This is RCA's second portable transistor radio, released the same year as RCA's first transistor radio, 7-BT-9J.

The transistors are easity detachable from their plug-in sockets.  The reliability and longevity of the first commercial transistors were unknown so some of the early radios had sockets (like tube sockets) for easy replacement of the transistors.

Requires a special RCA battery pack, type VS301, which is 9-volt with a 3-volt tap.
