  • RCA WR-525A Marker-Signalyst;

    Generates a Picture Carrier Frequency on all US FCC standard VHF Channels (55.25 to 211.25 MHz) with harmonic output in the UHF range. Two ranges: Ch 2 - 6, & Ch 7 - 12.

    Modulation input: AF/VF/RF up to 4.5 MHz.

    Text provided by Ebay.com user "mescosun" 3/2012:

    "The WR-525A has two basic functions:

    Marker Generator:

    The WR-525A can be used with the RCA WR-155A TV Channelyst or similar sweep generator to provide picture-carrier markers on all VHF channels. Sound carrier markers can be also obtained by using the WR-514A oscillator. Since the WR-525A has RF sweep on all VHF channels, the combination of these two instruments is well suited to applications such as checking tuner performance, tuner alignment, and overall RF/IF alignment checks.

    Signalyst:

    External signals up to 4.5 MHz can be used to modulate the RF output of the WR-525A. This feature makes the device useful for many applications in television servicing. For example, you can use the video output from a generator such as the RCA WR-515A Master Chro-Bar to modulate the WR-525A output. this will provide test patterns (color bars, crosshatch, etc.) on all 12 VHF channels, with harmonic output on the UHF channels.

    In a similar application,you can connect the output from the video detector of an operating TV receiver to the WR-525A and obtain the televised program material on any VHF channels or use as a test signal in servicing other sets. These applications make the WR-525A extremelt useful in TV alignment and servicing, including checking and servicing closed circuit TV and MATV systems."
