• Battery operated transistorized AM receiver. Sams photofact set 489 folder 17 date 6-60 features the RCA models TX1HE, TX1K and TX1JE as the same schematic.

  The three models of the TX-1 series, "The Scepter", are distinguished from each other only by the different color of the two-piece plastic case: beige and buff (TX-1K) ; turquoise and white (TX-1HE); and charcoal and white (TX-1JE).  The radio has two speakers (3 inch and 3.5 inch diameter), each with a voice coil impedance of 130 ohms with center to ground. 

  A curiosity for transistor radio collectors, not only Americans and Italians, is that the radios of the "The Scepter" series have an Italian twin sister (RD303) under the Radiomarelli and West brands, and much more rarely with the Imcaradio brand (RID 1303).

  NOTE:- I tre modelli della serie TX-1,  "The Scepter", si distinguono tra loro solo per il differente colore delle due parti componenti il mobiletto di plastica: beige-legno e marrone chiaro il modello TX-1K; verde chiaro e bianco-champagne il modello TX-1HE mostrato qui nelle foto e carbone e bianco- champagne il TX-1JE. Tanto si evince dall'etichetta di carta incollata sul fondo dell'apparecchio (vedere foto) ma anche dalla prima pagina del "SERVICE DATA" della Casa costruttrice, la RCA Victor, che porta la data del 29 giugno 1959, prima edizione, prima ristampa. Peso dell'apparecchio incluse le 3 pile tipo C (mezze torce): 2,5 pounds (all'incirca kg 1,100)

  Il radioricevitore è munito di due altoparlanti (per questo chiamato "DUFONICO"), uno da 3" e quello più grande da 3,5", ciascuno con impedenza di 130 ohm con centro a massa. Particolarità di questo modello è quella di usare lo stesso chassis dei precedenti modelli della serie T-1, chassis No.RC-1189 della RCA Victor. Infatti sui due telai a circuito stampato (chassis) di questi due diversi (esteriormente) apparecchi radio si ritrova la stessa sigla: 931489-1(2), come da foto.

  Una curiosità per i collezionisti di radio a transistor, non solo americani ed italiani, è che le radio  della serie "The Scepter" hanno una  sorella gemella italiana, una radio gemella nel modello 303 reperibile col marchio Radiomarelli e West e molto più raramente con quello Imcaradio (modello RID 1303).
