The RCA VoltOhmyst 195A, introduced in 1946, was the third generation of the RCA VoltOhmyst series, the first VoltOhmyst to measure AC by way of the high impedance vacuum tube circuit. The first generation was the original Rider-designed VTVM in 1939 which measured only DC volts and Ohms and subsequently sold by RCA as model 163. The second generation, model 165, added AC measurement but only as a direct meter connection at 1000 ohms per volt.
The 195A uses 2 "D" cells for the ohms function.
