The Auto Announcer Mk.2 is a new unit from the Rola range of Drum Announcement equipment. It is low cost equipment designed to announce place names, fault conditions and other short duration messages over a telephone system.

The portable Auto Announcer Record Unit is used to record suitable messages on interchangeable drums. These are then transferred to the replay units in the field.

Fully transistorised, the replay unit operates from a 48V DC source. It is designed to meet the highest telecommunications standards for continuous operation and long term reliability.

The ferro-neophrene band is lubricated to reduce head wear to negligible proportions. The unit can be supplied for rack mounting or fitted in a standard telephone base.

This equipment was used throughout the telephone networks of the Electricity Authorities of New South Wales, Victoria and the Snowy Mountains.
