  • The two speakers are 8 and 12 inch. There is also the same cabinet and probably chassis as "revised" model Silvertone 1722. The revision is mainly for a better short wave sensibility with a 78 resistance-capacity coupled IF stage added and the 37 detector and 37 first audio replaced by a 85 tube. You can find in Rider's Sears 4-28 how the various problems with the oscillator tube 56 on short wave must be treated and how the problems with 2A3 or 2A3H tubes (power transformer burning up, hum) had to be sorted out. There is also a (revised) model Silvertone 1722X.
