  • The Sears Silvertone 2278 is an AC/battery powered portable AM/FM/SW radio. Uses Qty(4) "D" 1.5V batteries.  Has Qty(1) Elliptical PM 7" x 5" speaker, push-pull output stage and earphone jack that disconnects the speaker for private listening. Has built-in AM loopstick antenna and telescoping swivel-type antenna for FM and SW.  Also has SW fine tuning control, tone control and built-in tuning meter with battery condition check. Cabinet is black plastic with silver-gold colored trim. This model was sold with an AC adapter, Qty(4) batteries and earphone.
