  • Notes
  • The TV service box was sold by Philips service division "Servex" in Sweden but it has no marking. It was called "The Servex TV service box". We guess that Philips/Servex had it made by some (Swedish?) furniture maker, almost all TV servicemen had that box in those days.

It would be very interesting to know if the box was sold in other European countries. It was sold empty, so every service technician had to choose his favourite tools for it. However, the space for the multimeter was made exactly to the dimensions of the Philips multimeter P 817 00.

At the Servex store you could buy tubes, semiconductors, standard components and spare parts for all Philips domestic products. It was not open to the public but as a Radio/TV serviceman you could buy smaller appliances, e.g. shavers, coffee makers, vacuum cleaners, car radios etc., all made by Philips with a good discount, the only exception was TV sets, they were sold to Radio/TV stores through other channels.
