  • The Six‑Sixty Cone Loudspeaker Assembly was introduced as a high‑fidelity loudspeaker unit for home construction or integration into commercial sets. The Modern Wireless test (Jan 1928) described the specially prepared diaphragm paper developed by the Electron Company Ltd for cone loudspeakers. The paper, a cross between thick brown paper and thin cardboard, was sold pre‑marked for cutting and produced a diaphragm of conventional convexity ready for mounting. When fitted to an existing loudspeaker, reproduction was reported as “bright and pleasing”, with a favourable stiffness‑to‑mass ratio compared with many commercial cones.

    By 1930, the Six‑Sixty Radio Co. Ltd marketed the complete Cone‑Speaker Assembly under the slogan “Realistic Reproduction”, promoting true‑to‑life realism and unspoiled reproduction. The assembly was sold for 15 shillings, and many set manufacturers standardized it for its fine performance. The advertisement encouraged enthusiasts to “make your own cone‑speaker in your own home” using the Six‑Sixty assembly.
