  • The Sony D-5 CD Compact Player (US market) and the Sony D-50 CD Compact Player (AEP, UK and E versions) were the first portable CD players made in 1984. Black & red colors known. Supplied with a Sony dockable AC mains adaptor. Can be powered by 6 'C' cell batteries or 6 Sony KR-C-F-2 nickel-cadmium rechargeable batteries when held in the optional Sony EBP-9LC battery case. Also available an optional Sony DCC-120 car battery cord for use with a 12V car battery.
