Slimline multi‑band tuner sharing the same chassis and circuitry as the ST‑JX2L, but fitted with two shortwave bands in place of the long‑wave coverage found on the L‑variant. Provides FM, MW, and SW1/SW2 reception.
The FM section uses integrated‑circuit IF and MPX stages, with a combined stereo/muting switch that engages FM stereo decoding and inter‑station muting. A 5‑segment LED signal‑strength indicator and FM tuning indicator assist accurate tuning. The AM section (MW and SW) uses a conventional superheterodyne design with 450 kHz IF.
