  • Notes
  • This Sparton 738 Selectime or Selectone clock radio model with a Telechron clock is very unique: The front shows only an alarm clock instead of a scale and above it there are 6 station pushbuttons. The two knobs below the clock are only volume control and tone control, no other tuning but with the 6 push buttons is possible. On the top of the tombstone is the loudspeaker. The magic eye is sticking up on the chassis like the other tubes ... Since the tuning of the buttons is done from the rear, this is the only right way to place the magic eye. The alarm clock can be set on quarter intervals by selecting the "wake up" time. For that time also a thombstone radio is unusual. The schematic tells "effective January 2, 1938".
