  • Notes
  • 585A is a mainframe oscilloscope capable of operating, depending upon the vertical plug-in amplifier, from dc up to 95 MHz with a risetime better than 3.9 ns. Sweep rate as high as 10 ns/cm is possible with 5x magnifier. Trigger use a tunnel diode regenerator to operate from input signals up to 150 MHz. Two balanced distributed amplifiers are used in the vertical amplifying chain, one before the delay line and the second between the line and the deflection plates driver. The CRT T5810-31 uses vertical distributed deflection, with six deflection plate pairs driven by a transmission line, the signal propagating toward the front of the tube at the same velocity of the electron beam.
