    The on/off switch also switches the output directly to car aerial or to Tunaverter output.

    For use at a radio with a ferrite antenna, there is no connection to the receiver. The output is coupled via a short wire or resonant antenna, e.g., with a coupling loop 2.5" in diameter for #20 to 32 enamel wire, C = 240 pf, L = 18 turns for 1500 kHz output.

    All VHF Tunaverters have a 3-section tuning capacitor.

    The X models have a fixed crystal front panel plug-in option for a fixed frequency channel. Crystals cost 5.10 USD. Slide the XTAL switch to ON for crystal-controlled frequency, or slide to the other position (not ON) to use as a standard frequency band converter.
