This is a United Wireless Telegraph (UWT) Co. (1906-1912) 1KW Spark Transformer for use in a spark transmitter used in wireless telegraphy. It steps up the primary line voltage (typically 110 VAC) to a high secondary voltage (typically 30,000 to 40,000 VAC) whenever the spark transmitter is keyed.
