This radio is almost identical to the Emerson Pioneer 888 (see there). Thanks to an agreement stipulated in 1954 with the Emerson Radio Export Corporation of New York, the Canadian Marconi Company (CMC) acquired the right to use the Emerson licences to produce and to sell in Canada receivers with the brand Emerson.
