    Turntable / player is hand wound spring driven Garrad 78 rpm only with brake and speed adjustment.

    The last Vidor gramophone is probably the 1956 Jamboree CN438 which is 45rpm only. Microgroove LP 33s released 1948 and 45s were released in 1949.

    The 4 pin connector means a "balanced" combination  pack. The Vidor L5509 (Ever Ready B125) is recommended, a 1.5V + 90V pack balanced for 250mA filaments and about 10mA HT. 

    Price of 21.76 GBP (£stg) included battery in 1951 but probably excluded Purchase Tax.
