This EF42E was sold as substitute for the EF42, but in fact it is an EF43 !
The EF42 has an anode current of 10 mA at 250V screen grid voltage,
however, the EF43 has an anode current of 15 mA at a screen grid voltage of only 135 V.
If this alleged "EF42E", but actual an EF43, is operated with a screen grid voltage of 250V instead of the EF42, an extremely high anode current occurs, which leads to the imminent destruction of the tube and endangers the device, where it is used.
We strongly advise against using this "EF42E" instead of the EF42 !
However it can be used as EF43 without reservations.
