Descripción Vacuum-tube accelerometer sensor. SD-759A was the improved version of the sensor devised around the late 1946 by Walter Ramberg at U.S. National Bureau of Standards. As the early version, the tube was a twin diode with common cathode and two plates, one for each cathode side. The plates were elastically mounted, so to be deflected for perpendicular accelerations applied to the base. Internal stops were added to limit the motion of the plates and prevent the zero-shift from excessive accelerations. The sensitivity was increased by a factor of 25 and a second getter was added to reduce the static zero-drift.
1 to 50-g operating range, 10V plate voltage, 34mA plate current, 300 ohms max plate resistance, 600Hz minimum natural frequency of the plate structure.
