Probably the first cathode ray "magic eye" tube. The design by STC was based on an STC cathode ray tube.

Two methods of use were suggested:
a) HF/IF anode current fed via suiable network.
b) HF/IF signal applied directly to the grid to produce a straight line with a length in proportion to signal strenth.
