Founded in 1971 by Mr. David Gerzvolf formed by the Technion Institute of Israel, covers an area of 34.500m ² and 9,000 m² of built area in the Industrial District of Manaus, in Brazil. In its early, ICEL manufactured multimeters and several components to industries that were settled in Manaus, such as CCE, Sharp and others.
In 1976 approved a new project to industrialize desk calculators and notebooks, introducing the technology in Brazil's most renowned brands of the time, Total Italy, NS and Monroe both American.
In the early eighties were initiated several partnerships in the sector of multimeters and pliers with American and Japanese firms. Highlighting the partnership with Japanese company "Kaise", from which came the instruments "ICEL-Kaise" enjoyed great success in domestic and international markets. At the same time ICEL popularized the use of DMM in Brazil, with the release of the popular IK-1000, a landmark in its category until this day.
In 1990 following the opening and evolution of the domestic market the company decides to expand and diversify their product line with innovative solutions for measuring different quantities. Marketing instruments with greater sophistication, such as: decibelimeters, light meter, oscilloscopes, among others.
