Name: CSIRO Division of Radiophysics, Epping, New South Wales    (AUS)
Abbreviation: csiro
Products: Model types Others
Summary:

The CSIRO Division of Radiophysics in Epping, New South Wales, was first established in 1940, replacing the Radiophysics Laboratory. The Division continued to operate up until 1996, when it was merged with the Division of Applied Physics to become the Division of Telecommunications and Industrial Physics.

Founded: 1940
Closed: 1996
History:

The Radiophysics Division has continued operations since its commencement on 10 May 1940, particularly conducting research into communications systems and imaging technologies. There are four groups in the division: solid-state Devices Group, Electromagnetic and Optics Group, Signal and Image Technologies, and the Ultrasonics Group.

In 1992, researchers from CSIRO’s then Radiophysics Division developed a technological breakthrough in advanced WLAN.

Their WLAN invention increased indoor wireless data transmission rates from 10 megabits per second (10 Mbits/s) to greater than 50 megabits per second (50 Mbits/s) and prevented the distortion of the signal, as the radio waves bounced off walls and furniture.

This manufacturer was suggested by Heribert Jung.
