1909: Mr. Grebes "factory" for receiving sets and parts was a one-story shack, the previous tool shed next to the greenhouse on the familys property at Van Wyck boulevard. He made crystal detectors and loose couplers for sale.
1914: The first catalog was issued.
1922: Mr. Grebe tore down the old house and built a new factory instead. 1925: Mr. Grebe was one of the managers of the New-Yorker 'THE INSTITUTE OF RADIO ENGINEERS, INC.' (until end of 1926).

The company had reached its peak with the famous "Synchrophase" receivers. This receiver did not require an Armstrong license (for reaction) but since it used neutralization Hazeltine sued Grebe for patent infringement, and the case was decided in favor of Hazeltine. Grebe had to pay for a license. Fewer of Grebes high-prices radios were sold, and eventually late in 1932 Grebe went bankrupt.
