History: 1890: Siemens&Halske (S&H) opens a technical office in Budapest.
1900: S&H’s technical office is transformed into a stock company.
1902: 'Ungarische Schuckert-Werke Elektrizitäts AG (USSW)' is established in Budapest.
1913: The company opens a cable plant in Budapest and provides Hungary’s national railway with the first automatic telephone system and clock systems.
1925: Hungary’s first radio station is established and the studio technology installed.
1929: 'Siemens-Reiniger-Veifa AG' is founded in Hungary.
1934: S&H Budapest merges with USSW to form 'Ungarische Siemens-Werke (USW)'.
1946: The Soviet Union takes possession of USW, which as of 1951 operates under the name 'Budapester Elektromotor- und Kabelwerk'.
1974 Intercooperations AG and Siemens found 'Sicontact GmbH' in Budapest.
1981: The company delivers the first process computing system for Budapest’s subway.
1990: 'Sicontact GmbH' is renamed 'Siemens GmbH'.
1994: 'Siemens AG Hungary' is founded, bringing together Siemens’ activities in the country. Company headquarters are in Budapest.
