The brand "Aetherkruiser" was introduced in 1938 at the "Jaarbeurs" fair in Utrecht. A Dutch trading firm named "Algemene Nederlandsche Radio Unie (ANRU) N.V" showed its first Dutch product at that time, the receiver Aetherkruiser AK380.
Aetherkruiser founder was J.M.F.A. van Dijk. The Aetherkruiser and ANRU activities were directed from his residence in Amersfoort, Van Limburg Stirumlaan 20. Also the "Natuurkundig Laboratorium" en de Service facilities were located there.

Aetherkruiser founder was mr J.M.F.A. van Dijk. The Aetherkruiser and ANRU activities were directed from his residence in Amersfoort, Van Limburg Stirumlaan 20. Also the "Natuurkundig Laboratorium" en de Service facilities were located here. After WW2 the company moved tot Amsterdam, Keizersgracht 450. ANRU stopped with the Aetherkruiser activities in 1953. Mr Van Dijk found more promising business opportunities at that time in the Marine Navigation Instruments business.
During WW2 the production of Aetherkruiser sets was suspended, a very limited number of radio sets were produced in Amersfoort. Approx. 30 different Aetherkruiser models are known at this moment
