The Radio Museum is situated in the center of what is now the most expansive area in Gothenburg, Norra Älvstranden, with Ericsson, Sigma, Navet, Semcon, Caran, Chalmers TH and Lindholmen Science Park as it's nearest neighbors.

The Radio Museum is about radio in all its aspects. Broadcasting is covered from the very first crystal sets to today's "ghetto blasters". Visitors can follow the development of maritime radio from the early spark transmitters to the advanced transmitting and receiving equipment of today.

In the ham radio section you can admire the beautiful and very skilfully built amateur radio stations from the mid 1920s right up to today's factory-built technical wonders. In the measuring-instrument section, the progress of electronics through the decades is illustrated.

Military radio systems, too, have their own section where you can wonder at the heaviness of the antique radio equipment and feel pity for the poor soldiers struggling to operate the generators by hand.

The development of radio communication on the civilian side is also shown: taxi and haulage industry radio, Citizens' Band radio, maritime radio, police radio, cellular radio and radio paging.

You will of course also find here a summary of the services that Swedish Telecom Radio provided during the 1980s, including the Frequency Management function.

You have access to a reference library containing books and magazines, including electronics handbooks and magazines, some 5000 items in all.

Electronic parts and valves, from the earliest types to state-of-the-art technology, are displayed in an informative survey of radio technology achievements through the decades.

Kort beskrivning av Radiomuseet

Radiomuseet är museet med radio i alla dess former. Här visas rundradion från de allra första kristalldetektorerna till dagens "bergssprängare". Här kan besökarna följa sjöfartsradions utveckling från de tidiga gnistsändarna till dagens avancerade sändare och mottagare.

I amatörradioavdelningen kan vi beundra de vackra och mycket skickligt byggda amatörstationerna från mitten av 1920-talet och framåt till dagens fabriksbyggda tekniska underverk och på mätinstrumentavdelningen ser vi hur elektroniken gjort sina framsteg genom årtionden.

Militärradion har också fått en egen avdelning där vi kan förundras över hur tunga de gamla radiopjäserna var och hur de stackars soldaterna fick kämpa för att handveva generatorerna.

Även den civila sidans radioutveckling visas upp, alltifrån taxi- och åkerinäringens radiostationer via privatradio, båtradio och polisradio till mobiltelefoni och personsökning.

Naturligtvis finns även en resumé över Televerket Radios tjänster på 1980-talet.

I museet finns också ett referensbibliotek med över 5100 volymer elektronikhandböcker och radiotidskrifter.

Elektronikkomponenter och radiorör från de allra tidigaste exemplaren fram till dagens moderna teknik visas upp i en lärorik exposé över radioteknikens landvinningar genom årtiondena. Museet drivs av Radiohistoriska Föreningen i Västsverige.

Radiomuseum in Schweden - Radiomuseet Göteborg 

In Göteborg gibt es ein nettes Radiomuseum, betrieben von der Historical Radio Society of Western Sweden (Radiohistoriska Föreningen i Västsverige). Gezeigt werden überwiegend schwedische Geräte aus den verschiedenen Dekaden. Außerdem gibt es eine Museumswerkstatt, in der die Radiogeräte des Museums repariert werden (ich meine mich zu entsinnen, dass auch Reparaturaufträge angenommen werden).

Ich hatte das Museum vor ein paar Jahren besucht, leider ohne Kamera und ohne meine Eindrücke direkt danach festzuhalten.

Radiomuseet Göteborg 

Dieses Museum kann ich nur empfehlen. Wer in der Region Urlaub macht, sollte für Göteborg etwas Zeit einplanen und dort unbedingt vorbeischauen. Auch für die vielleicht nicht so interessierten Familienmitglieder gibt es in Göteborg eine Menge zu besichtigen und zu erleben. Ich war 2004 dort und sehr begeistert.
