Qui sotto trovi parte della collezione di radio e altri apparecchi di Ivan Chamberlain I have my working Sparton Model 5341. It has been with me since 1964. I recently inherited my Grandfathers Radiola Model 66 which I am repairing in the hope of getting it working. I now have ten other radios. One Philco Model 111 Lowboy, a Stromberg Carlson 340M and a Zenith 8S563, a Westinghouse 5T166 Risemaster, an Admiral 7T10-5K1, a Westinghouse 757X, a Viking ECR51-418, a Teraphone 5350, and a newer transistor radio. Along the way I bought a Westinghouse Model 99. I am not a freeloader and am willing to assist and pay for downloading the items I need to work on and maintain these antiques. I took electronics and electricity in secondary school but that was a long time ago. I am very rusty. I worked on the Radiola earlier in 2017 but hit a bit of a roadblock. The main power transformer may need to be rewound. I am trying different ways to extract it from the tar filled canister. I am not sure of what I am looking at in regards to some of the other older parts. So I need some guidance in to what suitable replacements will do. Your forums might help me with that. Anyway, I am happy you considered my application for membership. I have also begun the Zenith restoration earlier in 2018. Most of the wiring has cracked insulation and the capacitors may need replacing. If someone could text or email me I need to find out how to upload some photo's of the repairs I am doing. I was able to repair the Viking and rewired the record player however it only plays 78 records and the radio is AM only. But it has a rich sound. I just picked up a Kaiser model W862 which I can't find any information on. It only picks up local FM stations. So far the AM and SW band has been silent. It has a Dual 1004 record changer but I have not had time to get it working properly. The Stromberg Carlson 340M is almost completely repaired. New grill cloth, face plate, station pointer and speaker repair. Regards, Ivan |
