Below you find a part of the radio collection Scott McWilliams - including other related items. I've been fascinated by old radios since I was a boy. An early memory I have was as a 10-year old and finding a large Telefunken table radio from the late 50s at a friends house. I was fascinated by the glow of the dial and "magic eye" and the warmth of the sound. I have a fascination with European table radios and have a small collection that I've built over the years - including some North American models. I've only recently successfully restored a Philco model 39-317 and am most pleased with the results. it was mainly an exercise in cabinet refinishing, re-lamping and re-capping. Moving on to try my hand at a Telefunken Operette 7. |
