Below you find a part of the radio collection Theodore Thompson - including other related items. I dabble in, and have worked to preserve, many old technologies. For most of my career I serviced and restored electronic organs and electro-pianos and designed custom accessories and solutions for them. My design work and main interest is tube (valve) technologies. As such I will rehab an old radio from time to time, generally preferring the ones that are assumed worthless (<$20 on ebay) over those assumed "of value" which often command insane prices regardless of condition. Why organs to radios? Well, I find they are more similar they you might expect - and it's much easier to carry a radio home under my arm. :) |
