Abbreviation: aravalve
Products: Tube manufacturer
Summary:

N.V. Arnhemse Fabriek van Radiolampen en Aanverwante Artikelen, The Aravalves Rijnkade 48/49 Arnhem

Small Dutch tube manufacturer

Founded: 1925
Closed: 1940
Production: 1925 - 1928
History:
Aravalves was founded in 1925 by J.H. Holtius, who became managing director, and J.H. Holtius, who became commissioner of the new company. Aravalves made low budget valves with a price of about FL 2.00 where a simular Philips valve costed FL 7.50. This kind of valves was used by amateurs, who builded there own radio set. Aravalves tried to export its valves and I have found advertisements in Wireless World of April 19th, and May 13th and 29th 1925. At the end of 1928 the company is in trouble. J.H. Holtius resigns and a new managing director, R.A. Bockholt, resigns also after 14 days. The company was sold in March 1929 too H.A. Kocken, a notary in Zevenaar (city near Arnhem) The company was moved too zevenaar in 1935 and moved too Utrecht in 1938. The company was closed in 1940.
As there is a continuous series of advertisements between mid 1925 and the end of 1927 and because of the fact that the company was sold too a notary in March 1929, it is likely that the production of Aravalves took place between mid 1925 and the end of 1928. After that period the company is probably used as a trading or investing company.

This manufacturer was suggested by Peter den Boer.
