History:

The Condor brand originated with the Dutch firm of Pope's Metaaldraadlampenfabriek (light bulb manufacturers - also making Pope bulbs) of Venlo, The Netherlands. This company was taken over by Philips around 1921.

Condor tubes were made in Holland by Philips from about 1924 to 1929, with the PR tube type number prefix (PR + Philips Radio). They were also produced in Austria and Engand.

The Australian series of Condor brand tubes originated in 1936 with several receiving tubes being made for a few years. No information about a wartime production is available.
