History:
Texas Instruments in Dallas (TI) was founded in 1930 by Cecil H. Green, Patrick E. Haggerty, John Erik Jonsson and Eugene McDermott as GSI (Geophysical Service Inc.). The first products were tools and equipment for the exploring oil industry.

Since about 1951 Texas Instruments, Dallas, was concentrating on designing and producing semiconductors like transistors and integrated circuits (IC's) as well as for applikations in analogue and digital signal processing.
Um 1941 Umbenennung in TI (Texas Instruments).
Am 10. Mai 1954 wurde der erste Silizium-Transistor für den kommerziellen Gebrauch angekündigt.
In den Werksferien im Sommer 1958 konstruierte Jack Kilby einen Prototyp der ersten integrierten Schaltung; am 12. September 1958 präsentierte er seine Ergebnisse vor dem TI-Management.

Wer kennt diesen Transistor? Bisher habe ich folgendes herausgefunden: Silizium-NPN mit beta etwa 50 (bei 150mA) und die Gehäusebauform ist TO-61.

Sicher weiß nicht jeder gleich die Abmessungen der Bauform TO-61, deshalb hier eine Abbildung dazu.
