History:
In 1965, Amcol started as Alliance Manufacturing Co. Ltd and in 1970 was changed to Amcol Electrical Industries and went public in 1973 in SES (Stock Exchange of Singapore). In 1983, Kang Hwi Wah, the owner of Sankei Pte. Ltd sold Sankei to Amcol for S$ 44.2 millions and became one of Amcol's board of directors. In 1986, PT Amcol Graha Electronic Industries became Sony distributor for Indonesia and in 1988 was changed into Amcol Holdings. In early 1990, New World group controlled a substantial stakes but was released in August 1994.
