Pyrox Pty Ltd. (Formerly Robert Bosch Supply and Service Co. Pty. Ltd) of 264 Latrobe Street, Melbourne was agents for Bosch Co of Germany and the United American Bosch Corporation. They sold Bosch products for motor vehicles spark plugs, magnetos, etc. In 1930 they gained the license to manufacturer Bosch spark plugs in Australia.

Advertising indicates the also sold Bosch Car Radios and in 1933 manufactured the Pyrox Car Radio. The Pyrox radio was only advertised in the 30’s and the company concentrated on spark plugs and other Bosch products. In 1947 it became a public company and in 1954 became Pyrox Industries of 14-36 Queensberry st., Carlton, Victoria. In 1956 they were taken over by Robert Bosch (Aust.) Pty. Ltd and the company manufactured Bosch fuel injection and automotive equipment.

History:
Pyrox Ltd; Melbourne: Is also in Sydney and has different agents. There are ads in the "Sydney Morning Herald", for instance December 14, 1950, page 10 for a Pyrox Magictape recorder - as sole licensee in Australia of the Armour Research Foundation of Chicago, USA. In 1949 the term Magictape was used in Canada by Utah.
