Paul E. Wallace moved to New York in February 1911 and rented space from the O.T. Louis company and went into business as the O.T. Louis Wireless Department. The company was located at 59 Fifth Avenue in New York City. It was in the summer of 1911 that Wallace would develop the Wallace Valve Detector and the regenerative Wallace Valve Receiver. Lee DeForest, in 1913, directly copied the Wallace Valve Detector and marketed it as the RJ4 Audion Detector. The first advertisement for the RJ4 in the November 1913 Modern Electrics magazine even used a cut of the Wallace Detector in the advertisement. |
