Summary:

The Leviathan Limited was a tailoring & retail company from 1865 until 1972.  They built the Leviathan Building on the corner of Swanston & Bourke Streets in 1912-13.[1]

On the 6 October 1924 the company opened a Radio Department selling radio components, crystal sets and the Leviaphone receivers. It is not known who manufactured their radios. They were also agents for Magnavox in Australia.[2]

In July 1931, AWA advertised that The Leviathan Pty Ltd was one of their distributors in Melbourne.[3]

During 1931 they advertised the Air King, 3 valve receiver using a modified “Loftin White” circuit and in October 1934 advertised Air King Superheterodynes for sale. These radios were rebadged and at this time are not known who manufactured them. [4] [5]

The company was operating a radio repairs and sales department in September 1945. [6]
