The Eckhardt Corporation was founded by Walter L. Eckhardt in 1926, after the bankruptcy of Music Master Corporation, which he also had founded. His two sons, Milne E. and Walter Jr. were officers in the newly founded company. In March, 1927, they aquired a new factory facility at 55th St. & Hunter Ave., Philadelphia, which was said to be" of modern construction and will provide maximum manufacturing and shipping facilties." According to Radio Manufacturer's of the 1920's, Vol. 2, 1989 by Alan Douglas, page 196, he "tried to go back into radio under his own name [Eckhardt Corp.] but had little success." sources: |
