Kelly and Shiel, Ltd. was the sole agent for Regentone, Whiteley Electrical Radio Co., Ltd., and Dubilier Condenser products in the Irish Free State in the 1930s.
In 1947, EKCO set up Kelly & Shiel as an associate company to assemble EKCO products and market them in Ireland.

Founded: 1927
Closed: 1991
Production: 1927 - 1991
History:

Kelly and Shiel, Ltd. was registered as a private company in Dublin on October 10, 1927, as dealers in wireless telegraphy & telephony.

The subscribers were J. K. Maconchy, Civil Engineer, A. O. Shiel, Radio Engineer, and G. T. Kelly, radio Engineer. [1]

The company imported and marketed English radio products for various companies, including Regentone, Whiteley Electrical Radio Co., Ltd., and Dubilier Condenser.

In 1947, EKCO set up Kelly & Shiel as an associate company to assemble EKCO products and market them in Ireland. This relationship was mutually beneficial, as it allowed Kelly & Shiel to gain access to EKCO's high-quality products and EKCO to gain access to the Irish market. It also allowed Kelly & Shiel to expand its operations into the assembly of electronics products.

A 1991 article in the Irish Times newspaper announced the closure of Kelly & Shiel, Ltd. The article cited competition from Asian electronics companies as the main reason for the closure.
