Diversey Boulevard Bridge is exactly the same location as Diversey and Logan at the Chicago River. Exactly the same place where Mohawk Corp of Illinois was located. In 1925 Mohawk made phonograph radio units with exposed tubes exactly like this Chieftan (Talking Machine World) and Mohawk exclusivley owned the patent for the one-dial condenser at the time. Mohawk made private label radios for Wurlitzer in 1927 so perhaps the Chieftan was a private label job for some other retailer? In any case I am 100% certain The Chieftan Radio Co sets were made by Mohawk. |
