In the November 1924, The Radio Trade Directory, under the heading manufacturers of Vacuum Tube Sets on page 80, the A.H. Grebe & Co., 70 Van Wyck Boulevard, Richmond Hill, New York.
Trade Names: 'Grebe' and "Synchrophase".

In the August 1926, McGraw-Hill Radio Trade Catalog on page 212 the A. H. Grebe & Company was located at 109 West 57th Street in New York City, New York.

Founded: 1914
History:
1909: Mr. Grebes "factory" for receiving sets and parts was a one-story shack, the previous tool shed next to the greenhouse on the familys property at Van Wyck boulevard. He made crystal detectors and loose couplers for sale.
1914: The first catalog was issued.
1922: Mr. Grebe tore down the old house and built a new factory instead. 1925: Mr. Grebe was one of the managers of the New-Yorker 'THE INSTITUTE OF RADIO ENGINEERS, INC.' (until end of 1926).
The company had reached its peak with the famous "Synchrophase" receivers. This receiver did not require an Armstrong license (for reaction) but since it used neutralization Hazeltine sued Grebe for patent infringement, and the case was decided in favor of Hazeltine. Grebe had to pay for a license. Fewer of Grebes high-prices radios were sold, and eventually late in 1932 Grebe went bankrupt. He planned to return to production but he died of complications following a colostomy on Oct.24, 1935. Ref.: Alan Douglas: Radio Manufacturers of the 1920's, vol.2.
